Message from our Chairman
Kwa’kway and welcome to the Hopi Tribe.
It’s is my honor, on behalf of the Hopi people and the Hopi Tribal Council, to welcome you to our homeland and to the official website of the Hopi Tribe.
The Hopi people have called these mesas and this land home since time immemorial. Our connection to this place is more than a connection to the land. It is a relationship that carries our history, our teachings, our language, our ceremonies, and our responsibilities to one another and to the generations yet to come.
As Hopi people, we are guided by the knowledge and wisdom entrusted to us by our ancestors. Our traditions remind us of who we are, where we come from, and the responsibilities we carry as stewards of our homeland and our way of life. These teachings continue to guide our families, our communities, and our Tribal government as we face the opportunities and challenges of today.
The strength of the Hopi tribe comes from our people. It comes from our elders who carry the knowledge of generations, from our families who keep our traditions alive, and from our youth who will carry the Hopi way forward. It is our responsibility to honor what has been entrusted to us while preparing a strong foundation for those who will follow.
The website is one way for us to share information, resources, news, and opportunities with our community and with those seeking to learn more about the Hopi Tribe. We hope it provides a meaningful connection to the work of our Tribal government and to the people we are here to serve.
Wherever you are visiting from, we welcome you to learn about the Hopi people with respect for our culture, our sovereignty, and our way of life.
Kwa’kway – Thank you and welcome.
