October 29, 2013  HOPI TRIBAL UPDATE ON CANDIDATES AND FORUMS

Kykotsmovi, AZ – The Hopi Tribal Elections are a few days away and forums are beginning to be scheduled.  October 30, 2013 will be the first to be held here on the Hopi Reservation, 6:30 p.m.-  9:30 p.m. at the Hopi Veterans Memorial Center, Kykotsmovi, Arizona.

The second forum will be held in Phoenix, Arizona on November 1, 2013 6:00 p.m. at the Native American Community Building  conference room,  across Central High School.

To request for an Absentee Ballot for the Primary Election, In Person is until November 1, 2013.  For the General Election the deadline date to request for an absentee ballot In Person is November 15, 2013.

Several of the Polling Sites have been changed due to electrical problems in the building.  These are the two polling sites which have been changed:

PONSI HALL relocated to the Tewa Community Center

SHUNGOPAVY Community Center relocated to the Halayki Church located in the Village of Shungopavy.

ELECTION DATES

Canvassing will be held at the Hopi Veterans Memorial Center, Kykotsmovi this is open the General Public. Canvassing will  begin upon the arrival of all Polling sites, around 8:30 p.m. Unofficial results  of the canvassing will be posted that evening.
