Throughout the COVID-19 response on the Hopi reservation, the Hopi Tribe’s Department of Health and Human Services has partnered with the Hopi Health Care Center (HHCC), Tuba City Regional Health Care Corporation (TCRHC) and the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) to ensure Hopi’s healthcare preparedness to address a surge in COVID-19 cases and to provide a continued accounting of COVID-19 cases. In the early stages of the pandemic, Hopi Tribal Leadership issued a series of executive orders to support the public health surge response and capacity building, including issuance of the Stay at Home Order, which provided Hopi Emergency Response Team (HERT) to implement preparedness plans, enhance surge capacity, and acquire additional personal protective equipment. The following is a week to week status report and update of the cases that impact the Hopi communities, since we began formally announcing the numbers.
